What I collect, and why.

Who I am
Charles Hambley Monk, trading as Charles Hambley, a cold email and deliverability consultant based in London. If you have a question about your data, email charles@charleshambley.com.
What I collect
- Newsletter: your first name and email address, so I can send you Out of the Void every Monday.
- Free check, if you ask me to email it: your first name, email address, the domain you checked and its result. That signs you up to the newsletter too.
- Inbox audit: your name, email address, domain, email provider and sending platform. Then the test email you send, its headers, and your answers to my 5 sending questions. That's what the report is built from.
- Payments: Stripe takes your card details. I never see or store them. I see your name, email and what you bought.
- Enquiries: whatever you put in an email to me.
What I do with it
I use it to send the newsletter, run your audit, write your report, and reply to you. I don't sell it, rent it or add you to anyone else's list. Buying an audit doesn't sign you up to the newsletter.
Who else handles it
- Stripe: payments
- Kit: the newsletter
- GlockApps: the inbox placement test
- Google Workspace: my email
- Cloudflare: hosts this site
Each one only gets what it needs to do its job.
How long I keep it
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Audit data and reports: 12 months, then deleted.
- Payment records: 6 years, because UK tax law says so.
Your rights
You can ask me to show you what I hold, correct it or delete it. Email charles@charleshambley.com and I'll do it within 30 days. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter in 1 click at the bottom of any issue.
The free domain check
It runs in your browser. Nothing you type into it is sent to me or stored, unless you ask me to email you the result.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
